Coins

Every coin starts on a Meteora Dynamic Bonding Curve quoted in a card token, with pump.fun's exact curve shape scaled so that the curve raises N cards. 79.31% of the supply is sold on the curve, the price rises 14.7x along it, and at N cards raised the coin graduates to a COIN/CARD pool.

Launching a coin

Anyone can launch. launch_coin (card-launch) requires that:

  • the class's market is enabled, and
  • the class is not flagged as undercollateralized (Backing and poke).

It then creates the coin's curve through Meteora DBC on the market's current config, with a fresh Token-2022 mint whose whole supply DBC holds, and records the launch. In the app, the card page has a Launch action: the coin's mint key is generated in the browser and co-signs after the wallet.

The curve

pump.fun's bonding curve is a constant product of virtual reserves: it starts at 30 SOL against 1.073B tokens and completes when 793.1M tokens are sold, which raises 85 SOL. pokedex keeps that shape exactly and replaces SOL with card tokens, scaled so that the raise is N cards. DBC's single curve segment with constant liquidity is itself a constant product between its two prices, so it reproduces pump.fun's curve.

79.31%of the 1B supply is sold on the curve (793.1M coins)
20.69%goes to the DAMM v2 pool at graduation (206.9M coins)
14.7xthe price from the first buy to the end of the curve
N cardsraised when the curve completes, in card tokens
Market cap at launchabout 0.329 x N cards (1B supply at the start price)
Market cap at graduationabout 4.83 x N cards (1B supply at the end price)
pump.fun's curve (30 SOL and 1.073B coins of virtual reserves, 85 SOL raised), with every SOL amount scaled so the raise is N cards.

These are the same ratios as pump.fun's: about 28 SOL of market cap at launch and about 411 SOL at graduation, against an 85 SOL raise.

Graduation target

N defaults to half the cards vaulted in the class when the market's config is written, and it must be above 0 and below the number of cards vaulted. So a class with 10 cards in the vault launches coins that graduate at 5 cards raised (5,000 card tokens): a market cap of about 0.329 x 5 = 1.6 cards at launch and about 4.83 x 5 = 24 cards at graduation.

Meteora configs cannot be changed. When more cards are vaulted, the admin writes a new config with the new N and points the class's market at it; coins already launched keep the config they launched on.
